My name is Michael DeFranco. Originally from Massachusetts, I started experimenting with cameras as a kid and decided to make it my career. My passion grew through my teen years, leading me to study cinematography at the Rochester Institute of Technology. I recently received my BFA in Film Production with a concentration in cinematography.
My greatest asset is collaborating with directors to meet their vision regardless of story or style, and I have taken this mindset onto a diverse set of projects. Some highlights include shooting a doc on a dairy farm in Minnesota, BTS content for a Coca-Cola commercial, and a dystopian maze action comedy. I have been acknowledged with multiple festival selections/awards, RIT Honors Show recognition, and RIT's Outstanding Undergraduate Scholar Award.
